2015 250SX West Champion
Factory G2 Pilot
G2/Yamalube/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Cooper Webb claimed his first career 250 Supercross title with a commanding win in Houston, Texas on Saturday night, April 11. The long spring break only served to improve Webb’s focus and speed, as he easily set the fastest time in qualifying practice – nearly a second ahead of his nearest rival. When the gate finally dropped for the 15-lap 250SX final, Webb got around the first turn in fourth, with rival Shane McElrath up front and charging.
After working his way into second place on lap five, Webb stalked McElrath until taking control of the race on lap 10, then built up a gap to win by 2.4 seconds, claiming the series title in the process. “This is unreal,” Webb said. “I dedicated my whole life for this moment right here and it paid off!” Yamaha Supercross team manager Jim Perry added, “With five wins en route to his first professional championship, this is an accomplishment for Cooper Webb and the Star Race team.” Webb demands a G2 Quick Turn throttle on his YZ250F.
