G2 Rear Brake Caliper Cooler

The G2 Rear Brake Caliper Cooler tackles extreme braking conditions that cause fluid boil & rear brake loss. Many racers and aggressive riders suffer from over-heating the rear brake caliper as they tend to “ride” or “drag” the brake pedal.

Heat Challenge

Heat is a brake system’s worst enemy! Friction from the pads contacting rotor transfers heat through the brake caliper piston to the brake fluid. If this heat builds up too much, the fluid will boil. This boiling point introduces air to the system. As a direct result, the brake will fade.

G2 Solution

The G2 Rear Brake Caliper Cooler design drastically decreases this heat buildup.
First, the cooler features aluminum fins providing a vast increase in heat dissipating surface area. Because of these fins, heat is drawn away from the brake fluid and caliper to quickly reduce temperature and maintain rear brake performance. In addition, the cooler’s direct contact with the caliper transfers heat away from the cast aluminum.

What sets the G2 Rear Brake Caliper Cooler above the competition?

Other brands use an inferior design! Their “cooler” combines a simple “tube” with an extremely long banjo bolt.  This transfers far less heat away from the rear brake caliper for two reasons:

1) The inner volume of cooler is mainly filled with the steel banjo bolt! Their bolt nearly fills the inside and leaves far less space for brake fluid. The G2 Cooler holds up to 5 times more fluid!  More brake fluid = better heat dissipation!

2) Their design merely seats aluminum against the caliper.

Our design both seats against caliper and contacts caliper via threads!  That equates to over three times the aluminum-to-aluminum contact area! Aluminum dissipates heat far better than steel!

Which cools better?  A Rear Caliper Cooler or Rear Brake Reservoir Extender?

This question has been asked by many of our customers, and even some top pros! To be frank, there is no performance advantage to installing a Rear Brake Reservoir Extender.

Our G2 Rear Brake Caliper Cooler underwent extensive evaluation. It is designed to mount AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to the source of heat. Reservoir extenders mount to the brake system as FAR AS POSSIBLE away from the heat. In fact, we have experienced rear brake fluid boil before the reservoir fluid temperature raises 20 degrees!

Regardless, you gotta admit, they do look cool!

Product Installation

Installation instructions are included. Inside each kit you will find one aluminum rear caliper cooler and two copper washers. Remember, don’t throw away your stock banjo bolt! You will need this and some extra brake fluid.

Keep your brake fluid cool and brake action consistent!
