G2 Tamer Throttle Tube for Triumph Street Motorcycles
The G2 Throttle Tamer Tube for Yamaha Street Motorcycles incorporates a progressive ratio between right hand rotation and carburetor or EFI opening. By altering the conventional, circular shaped pulley, there is a vast improvement in control. The snatchy/jerky power characteristic common with Yamaha (and most other modern fuel injected street motorcycles) is drastically reduced.
The G2 Tamer Throttle Tube has a pulley with a “ramped shape”. This shape requires a slightly farther turn to reach the same carburetor or throttle body opening position as a stock throttle. For this reason, the jerky “throttle snatch” of fuel injected street bikes is drastically reduced.
The radius increases, or ramps up, at about halfway into the throttle range. Because of this, overall rotation required to reach full throttle is similar to stock.
For most models the G2 Tamer Throttle Tube for Yamaha Street Motorcycles features our “400 style” (most tame) progressive profile. However, some will have alternative profiles. The profile shape proven to be the best all-round solution for each model is used.
The above graphic represents the progressive concept. However, for some models this will appear round, or same as stock, from the side. Nevertheless, look closely from the side to see there is a channel in the pulley that mimics this progressive shape.

Very well made and high quality part! The throttle machining is exquisite . The delrin bushings are a close fit and low drag. This made A mode on my tuned 2016 FZ09 actually enjoyable and safer on low speed maneuvers. I might actually get the slightly more aggressive cam to see how it does!

This was the second throttle tamer I installed on bikes I’ve owned. In both cases – ’07 Suzuki DL650 and a ’21 Yamaha T7 – the slower ramp rate in the first 1/4 throttle really made a huge difference. The initial off-idle engagement is much smoother. It completely removed the jerkiness of the throttle opening too quickly, from closed.
