G2 Throttle Tamer Tube for Kawasaki

The G2 Throttle Tamer for Kawasaki KX, KLX & KLR motorcycles is designed to help YOU become a better rider! How? It uses a “progressive” (non-circular) ratio between throttle grip rotation and power delivery. By changing the shape of the pulley, or “cam”, the Throttle Tamer gives you a huge improvement in control!

Each Throttle Tamer’s progressive shape is proven to be the best all-round solution for each model. For most models, the cam size begins about 20% smaller that stock, then it ramps up to the stock size by about one-half throttle.

The Throttle Tamer’s 20% smaller size requires slightly more rotation at first. This slightly longer pull makes a HUGE difference in control! As the power is rolled on, you will find it far easier to modulate traction. The cam size increases, or ramps up, after ½ throttle to keep overall rotation near stock rotation. Whether your goals are faster cornering, less wheelspin or more finesse on those goat trails, the G2 Throttle Tamer will improve your ability to control the throttle!

For 2 cable models (4 strokes or 2 stroke EFI), the cam appears circular from the side. However, if you look closely you will see a channel machined into the cam, This channel has our progressive “tamer” shape. Utilizing a channel provides all the control while keeping the cable positioned properly.

Using handguards? No problem with the G2 Throttle Tamer Tube! The end cap is removeable and allows easy handguard installation. The knurled area allows for solid grip adhesion. Just install a good quality grip (we highly recommend Domino Grips) and you’re good to go!

    This thing works! The instant response that stock throttle delivered on my 21 KX450X was difficult for me to handle on the slower, rougher terrain. I would get arm pump more than IÕm used to. I put this throttle tamer on and it is a world of difference. The arm pump I was experiencing is gone and my 450 is a blast to ride on tighter, slower trails now. 100% happy with my purchase and would highly recommend to anyone looking to make their modern 450 more manageable in the tight woods.

    IÕm new to 2 strokes (only have owed 4 strokes prior) and having the dirt throttle tamer has honestly been so great. It allows for way better control at lower speeds esp less jerky on the slow technical terrain. All the power is still there but itÕs just way more controllable in my opinion. I have it on my 01 KDX 200 and probably wonÕt ever take it off

    This is a great product, especially if you are converting a motocross bike into and off road trail bike. Takes that quick hit out all allows you to have more throttle control at lower speeds.

    Big upgrade from the stock worn out tube on my 2007 KLR. Fit is great, installed on some Protaper bars. No issues with throttle cable figment. The throttle tamer cam profile works well with the bike.

    Tried G2 throttle trimmer out today . I have a kx250f 2007 . I ride : single, enduro style tracks. It seem to give the clutch a wider sweet spot . More control in the single, didnÕt stall as much . Thumbs up thanks G2. Cheers STubags

    What a quality piece of equipment. Installation took literally minutes. I installed it on my Ô19 KX250F to soften the initial ÒhitÓ and make it more trail friendly. My first impressions were less than desirable as I didnÕt feel much of a difference. Now mind you this was a quick spin around my yard as it was getting dark. The next day I went out for a 2-3 hour ride and WOW what a difference. The first thing I noticed was the increased amount of twist needed to achieve wide open throttle. This proved that the cam profile was different and it actually was working contrary to my previous nights experience and low speed riding was way more manageable. ItÕs been on my bike for a few weeks now and it gets better with every ride. Mind you that this is not a magic bullet and any fuel injected bike still has the ability to rip your arms off but you will feel a difference. I did and it made my slow speed trail riding much more enjoyable. In fact I may install the 10% cam because I feel the
