The G2 Dirt Tamer Throttle Tube for Honda incorporates a non-linear ratio between hand throttle rotation and carburetor or throttle body opening. The pulley, or as we call it, cam pulls the throttle cable as the rider rotates the grip/tube. By altering the conventional, circular shaped cam, a vast improvement in control is achieved. For most models the Throttle Tamer includes a 400 style cam profile, but some will have alternative cam profiles. The cam proven to be the best all-round solution for each model is used.
The G2 Dirt Tamer Throttle Tube has a cam with a reduced radius initially, which requires a slightly farther rotation to achieve the same carburetor or throttle body opening position as a stock throttle. This slightly longer pull makes a HUGE difference in control as the power is rolled on and the rider searches for traction. The radius increases or ramps up after ½ throttle to keep overall rotation requires to reach full throttle at or near stock rotation.
G2 cams are interchangeable! You are never stuck with a ratio that is not correct for your skill or track condition! You can always go back to the stock ratio, quicker, or for most models several different progressive control ratios! Cams may be ordered separately, or consider the G2 Throttle Cam System that includes a tube and three cams – 100 (stock), 200 (10% smaller & progressive) and 400 (20% smaller & progressive).

My crf450 was just too snappy for me, especially offroad. It was just too much work and would wear me out. Put the g2 on and it’s heaven. the best mod I’ve put on my bike and you can swap cams in minutes.

Great product!!!! I put one on my fiances 150R and she was able to control the bike and trail ride. She rode the same bike week earlier and looped it twice, she refused to get back on it. Now she wants to go trail riding again.

I purchased the G2 throttle Tamer for my 2017 Honda CRF450RX after putting a few rides on bike with stock throttle tube. With the stock throttle tube the bike is too responsive on tight single track. I decided to purchase the Throttle Tamer based on reports of the product. Wow what a serious improvement for control of the bike off idle to 1/2 throttle where you run it in tight single track and I ride Senior Expert class so this is a great improvement for riders of all levels.

Installed a Dirt Tamer on an XR650R. While still stock, the BRP throttle is fantastic for wide open desert riding (not surprising). When attempting slow technical terrain (idle to just off idle) it turns into a rocking horse, threatening to buck you off (forward and back) with even a slight crack of the throttle. After installing the G2 Dirt Tamer (with a 400 cam) it settled right down and allowed a smooth transition from idle (no more bucking). Now I can attempt the gnarly technical-stuff with more confidence

Was sceptical however, the product is great quality. Fitted to my Honda CRF450L and made a noticeable difference in low gears, way less snatchy. For reference I have a vortex ecu and fmf exhaust system too. Makes Hill climbs easier too. Delivery to Australia wasn’t bad time wise either.

Probably the easiest part I’ve ever swapped out on a bike. This thing is a game changer. The stock throttle tube had me afraid of my bike. We road some unexpected extremely technical stuff the day I put this on and it literally saved my a**. There were mixed reviews on the CRF450L facebook group, but I decided to pull the trigger since I didn’t feel like shelling out $700 for a new ECU just yet and I’m glad I did. I hear that this throttle tube, coupled with the ECU, and full exhaust makes the bike a manageable beast. Looking forward to many hours with this!

I absolutely love my throttle tamer, racing harescrambles on a fuel injected 450 often had a very twitchy throttle, sometimes difficult to control in sketchy situations. The throttle tamer cured that for me, smoothing out the low side throttle immensely, and just wick it a bit further when i need the rest.

It does what it says and counteracts the ECMs snatchy fuelling off the bottom which in turn makes the bike way smoother to operate and modulate at low rev inputs. Fit and finish is bang on. Save your money on a Vortex ECM and buy one of these; You won’t be sorry.

Great throttle, which brings much more control at slow speeds on my CRF450L, then unleashes the power in mid-range. Only downside: it doesn’t pop up as fast doing wheelies but a well worth tradeoff for improved comfort and precision.

I have slowly been converting my 2016 CRF450R into a woods bike and this was a perfect add on. Really tamed down any whiskey throttle, without losing any actual power. For the price, the quality is very good and it felt smoother than OEM tube.
